What Tiyisa Plus is
Tiyisa Plus is an optional subscription to extra features in the Tiyisa app. Everything that's free in Tiyisa stays free. Plus adds:
- Snap your plate. Food from a photo, a label, your voice or your words, worked out for you. You check it before it’s saved.
- Your full record. Everything you’ve added, for any dates, as a PDF or a spreadsheet to share with your doctor.
- Your watch and phone. Walks, gym sessions and steps from Apple Health or Health Connect, without typing them.
- Ask (Soon). Ask finds and explains passages in Tiyisa's cited information library, in plain words. It does not give medical advice, and it never looks at your own entries.
A feature marked "Soon" isn't part of what you pay for until it's switched on in the app. Plus works in the app on iPhone and Android, on any phone where you sign in with the same email. Tiyisa is a tracker: Plus, like the rest of Tiyisa, doesn't give medical advice.
Snap your plate works out what's in your food with an AI service outside South Africa: OpenRouter, which uses Google's Gemini models. What you send is used only for that and isn't kept. Our Privacy notice has the details.
Prices and paying
- Monthly: R49,00 a month.
- Yearly: R449,00 a year (that's R37,42 a month).
Prices are in rand, and they're the full amount you pay: Synthetiq (Pty) Ltd isn't registered for VAT, so prices include no VAT, and we add no other fees. You pay by card, on Paystack's secure page, and your bank may ask you to confirm the payment (3-D Secure). For now, Tiyisa Plus on this website can only be paid by card. Your bank statement will show SYNTHETIQ.
Tiyisa Plus is also sold in the app, through the App Store and Google Play. There, the store takes the payment under its own terms and at its own price, which may include VAT, and these Terms of Sale don't apply to it.
Buying, and when Plus starts
To buy Plus here, you need a free Tiyisa account: the same one the app uses, made with your email address and a six-digit code. You choose monthly or yearly, and before you pay, the checkout shows your plan, the price and when it renews, in full. You can change your choice or stop there. You agree to these terms by ticking the box, and pay on Paystack's page.
Your purchase is complete when your payment goes through, and Plus starts as soon as the payment is confirmed, usually within seconds. By paying, you ask for Plus to start straight away. We email you a receipt. To use Plus on your phone, sign in to the Tiyisa app with the same email.
Renewal
Plus renews automatically until you cancel it, on the card you paid with (or a new one you add). Your dates follow your first payment: a monthly plan renews each month on the day you first paid, and a yearly plan renews each year on that date. My plan always shows your next payment date and amount.
For a yearly plan, we email you about three months before it renews, and again a week before, so it never renews without warning. There's no minimum term beyond the month or year you've paid for.
Stopping Plus
You can stop Plus renewing at any time on My plan, with one button: Stop renewing. Plus keeps working until the end of the month or year you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. Changed your mind before then? Keep Plus, on the same page, and it carries on as before.
Stopping Plus never deletes anything you added. The free parts of Tiyisa keep working. Deleting your Tiyisa account also stops your plan. If you bought Plus in the App Store or Google Play, cancel it there.
Your 7 days to change your mind
If you cancel within 7 days of your first payment for Tiyisa Plus, you get all of it back: R49,00 for a monthly plan, R449,00 for a yearly one. Use Cancel and get a refund on My plan, or delete your account. Plus ends when you cancel.
This is your cooling-off right under section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, and we give it to you in full even though Plus starts as soon as you pay. It applies to your first purchase of Plus, once per person. The refund goes back to the card you paid with. We start it straight away; your bank decides how long it takes to reach your account, and it will be there within 30 days.
For your safety, we ask for a fresh sign-in code before any refund.
Yearly plans after the first 7 days
You can choose either of these, at any time, on My plan:
- Stop renewing. Plus keeps working until the end of your year, and it doesn't renew.
- Cancel now and get back the months you haven't used. Plus ends that day, and we refund R449,00 for each whole month left in your year, divided by 12, rounded down to the cent. The month you're in counts as used. My plan shows the exact amount before you confirm.
For example, if you cancel in month 4 of your year, you get the 8 unused months back: R299,33. A monthly plan after its first 7 days can be stopped from renewing at any time; the month you've paid for isn't refunded, and it keeps working until its end.
If a payment doesn't go through
We email you, and Plus keeps working for 7 days while you sort it out. Use Pay now on My plan to pay with the same card or another one. That payment starts a new month or year from the day you pay, so your payment dates move to that day.
If you don't pay within those 7 days, Plus ends, and you owe us nothing for them. Nothing you added is deleted, and you can come back to Plus at any time. If your card is about to expire, we email you before your next payment so you can add your new card.
If you pay twice
If you have Tiyisa Plus from the App Store or Google Play and from this website at the same time, you only need one. We stop the website plan from renewing, email you, and refund the days you paid twice within 2 working days.
Price changes
If we change the price of Plus, we'll email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you, and you can stop Plus renewing before then. Your plan keeps its price until then. If we change these terms in a way that matters to your plan, we'll email you before it takes effect. The version at the top shows which terms you agreed to, and we keep a record of it with your purchase.
Your receipts and records
We email a receipt for every payment, and My plan lists your payments. We keep a record of each payment for five years, because South African tax law requires it, even if you delete your account. It holds no health information. Email info@tiyisa.com if you'd like a copy.
Keeping your payment safe
You type your card details only on Paystack's secure page. Paystack follows the card industry's security standard (PCI DSS). Tiyisa never sees, keeps or stores your card number: we only learn the card's type and last four digits, for your receipts. Every page where you pay or manage Plus is encrypted. Our privacy policy explains what happens to your information.
If something goes wrong
Please talk to us first: email info@tiyisa.com, and we answer within 2 working days. If a payment looks wrong, tell us before you dispute it with your bank. We can usually put it right, and refund you, faster. If a payment is disputed as fraud, Plus is paused while it's looked into.
If we can't settle it, you can contact the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (cgso.org.za) or the National Consumer Commission (thencc.org.za).
The law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Nothing in them reduces your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
